Here's how it works.

The hood pulls up over your head and covers the ears and the back of the neck — the two places that reliably burn first on a full day outside. When the sun swings around behind you, you pull it up. When it doesn't, it sits flat on your shoulders.

Extended thumb loops hold the sleeves down over the backs of your hands, so the gap between cuff and skin never opens up when you cast, paddle or reach for a trekking pole.

The fabric is 140 gsm 100% polyester with four-way stretch. It's light enough to wear through a hot afternoon, and moisture-wicking, so sweat moves off your skin instead of sitting on it. It dries fast after a wave over the side. Raglan sleeves leave the shoulders free, so overhead casts and long paddle strokes don't pull at the seams.
