The Activearo wind up solar radio is an emergency radio with a built-in 10,000 mAh power bank, made for the nights when the power is off and the storm is still blowing. It keeps the radio, the lights and your mobile going without a plug socket.

It picks up AM and FM through a telescopic aerial, and its dial also carries a WB weather band used in North America. The battery refills three ways, from the solar panel on top, the fold-out wind up handle on the back or a USB cable, and a power display shows how much charge is left. That one battery runs the radio, a torch with far, low and mixed beams, a fold-up reading lamp and a USB output for topping up a phone.

Worried a wind up radio only buys you a few minutes? The big battery is the reserve. Charge it by USB before winter, top it up every few months so the power display shows it ready, and the sun and the handle are there to keep it going during a power cut.

Keep it on the bedside table, in the kitchen cupboard, the car or the camping box, so the radio, the lights and your phone keep going when the power does not.

Key Features:

  • Picks up AM and FM radio for local news and updates without mobile signal or internet.
  • Built-in 10,000 mAh battery tops up a phone through the USB output during a power cut.
  • Recharges three ways, from the solar panel on top, the fold-out wind up handle or a USB cable.
  • Torch with far, low and mixed beam modes lights the garden, the stairs or the path when the lights go out.
  • Fold-up reading lamp spreads a wide, even light across a table, a tent or a kitchen worktop.
  • SOS button sounds an alarm to help others find you.
  • Power display shows how much charge is left, so you know when to set it in the sun or wind the handle.
  • Built-in compass and a loop carry handle make it easy to grab for the car, the caravan or the emergency kit.
  • Comes in green or black.

Activearo makes gear for people who spend their time outdoors and like to be ready for whatever the weather brings, and this wind up radio keeps the rest of the kit powered.

Pair it with our rechargeable LED head torch for hands-free light and our 50L tactical backpack to keep the whole emergency kit in one place.
