Military Style Poncho - Camping Tarp and Ground Sheet with Grommets

The Activearo Military Style Poncho is a hooded rain poncho that also pitches as a camping tarp and lays flat as a ground sheet. Most rain gear does one job and then rides in your pack all day. This one keeps earning its space after the shower passes.

It is one large rectangle of coated synthetic fabric, about 82.5 x 55 in when opened flat, with a drawstring hood in the middle. Brass grommets at the corners let you tie it out between two trees or stake it over your gear. On the Classic style, snap buttons close the throat, small snaps run down both side edges so you can close them into loose sleeves, and the inner face is a pale silver gray.

Wear it on the trail with your daypack underneath, pitch it over the camp chair when rain rolls in, or put it down on wet grass at the riverbank, so the one thing you packed for rain is cover for you, your pack and the ground you sit on.

One thing worth saying plainly. The test report the maker supplies covers chemical content, not water, and there is no water rating on record, so we do not call this poncho waterproof. As a tarp it is a basic rain cover, not a tent, and stakes and cord are not included. Like every poncho it catches strong wind, and it works as a poncho or as a tarp, not both at the same time.
