Twenty miles in, your back is a soaked sponge and the pack straps have cut two red lines across your shoulders.

You brought the backpack because there wasn't anywhere else to put the water, the rain shell, the repair kit, and the snacks. Now the pack is riding up on every climb, sliding down on every descent, and the weight is sitting where it does the most damage — high, on your back, above the saddle where it wants to tip you forward on the drops. You've been standing to pedal for the last two miles just to give the pack straps a break.

These are fork-mounted bags — kit strapped to the front fork legs, low on the bike, balanced side-to-side, out of your way. The pack comes off your back. The weight goes where the bike carries it best.

Here's how it works.

The bags mount to the fork blades on either side of the wheel — as low as gear can sit on a bike, right above the front hub. Low center of gravity, symmetrical weight distribution, no wobble. The bike still steers like it did unloaded, because the mass is where the bike is engineered to hold it.

5 to 7 liters of dry storage gives you room for what you actually carry on a long ride or a bikepacking overnighter — a water bottle, a wind shell, tools, spares, snacks, a bivvy sack, or a small dry bag. Not enough for the full house you'd bring on a pannier tour, but plenty for the trips where the pack is overkill.

Waterproof construction keeps the contents dry through rain, wet-road spray from other riders' wheels, and the occasional creek crossing on a gravel route. When the sky opens up at mile 50, you don't stop to dig out a rain cover.

Mounting hardware included — clamps around standard fork blades on most rigid forks. Gravel bikes, hardtails, touring bikes, recreational rides. Install once, use for years.

The gear it replaces:

  • Backpack while cycling — sweaty back, cut shoulders, high center of gravity on the descents
  • Handlebar bag alone — steering feels heavy, weight up front where it wants to twist the bars
  • Frame bag on a small triangle — fine for a phone and a spare tube, not enough for real gear
  • Rear pannier setup — heavier, more expensive, overkill for weekend trips

What's in it:

  • Waterproof bikepacking fork bags — 5 to 7 liters of dry storage on the front fork
  • Front-fork mounting — low center of gravity, symmetrical weight distribution, stable handling on descents
  • Waterproof construction — contents stay dry through rain, road spray, and creek crossings
  • Compatible with most rigid forks — gravel, touring, hardtail, hybrid, and recreational bikes
  • Mounting hardware included — no separate cage or clamp system to buy
  • Bikepacking bags for weekend and multi-day rides — bike touring bags and dry bags in one setup
  • Backpack alternative for long-distance cycling — get the weight off your body and onto the bike
