You are into fish, the light is going, and your box is sitting on the ground behind you. Every lure change means turning around, crouching down and tucking the rod under your arm while you tie.
This bag does not come off. It belts at your waist for the walk in, and when you need it you swing it round to the front and work out of it standing up.
Here's how it works.
The waist belt threads through the back of the bag and carries the weight on your hips, so it stays put while you cover ground along a shoreline. The padded shoulder strap clips on when you want it higher, across your chest and clear of the water. A webbing strap across the front buckles over a rod blank, so the rod parks itself and both hands are free to tie a knot.
Storage is split so you are not digging for things. The main compartment zips open at the top for boxes. A large zippered pocket sits on the front for what you reach for most. There is a zippered pouch on each end for pliers and terminal tackle, and an open mesh pocket for a bottle. Rows of webbing run across the front and sides, so a gripper or a line cutter clips on the outside where you can see it.
